This is a polaroid he took on his year spent going across the country on Greyhound Busses, picking the route with the most stops so he could rack and paint in as many places as he could. He had a long stop in Chicago. Then he got to New York and, as the story goes (depending on who’s telling it) he jumped off a building to get away from the cops and broke both of his legs on the landing then covered his entire body in snow to avoid arrest / jumped from station platform onto tracks and was shocked by the third rail but miraculously survived.
he probably had a few ladies yelling at him for this one, and he probably apologized nicely before hopping out the window.
